"Circle of wool"
This project is a sustainable initiative that focuses on recycling used wool garments. The project is housed in a building that has been designed with environmental sustainability in mind, utilizing renewable energy sources and employing waste reduction and energy efficiency measures.
The process of recycling the wool garments happens in the basement of the building, where the garments are sorted, washed, and deconstructed to obtain yarn. The recycled yarn is then transported to the workshop, located on the ground floor, where people can come and design and knit their own new garments.
The first floor of the building houses a cafe, where visitors can enjoy refreshments and observe the knitting and designing process taking place on the ground floor. The top floor of the building is reserved for living space for the people managing the building.
The building's facade is a unique feature of the project, made out of structural skin panels that are constructed using scraps of leather. The panels not only provide an aesthetically pleasing exterior but also serve as a testament to the project's commitment to sustainability and waste reduction.
This project aims to provide an opportunity for individuals to participate in a sustainable and creative process of designing and creating their own garments, while also promoting the importance of environmental sustainability and waste reduction.
